Winter Concert: a message from the Chair

Well done, members and guests, for tremendous playing last Saturday (26 November 2022) at Milford-on-Sea. I think we tackled a challenging programme in an impressively capable way, and an entertaining one, and all sections really excelled. A special thank you to all our guest players, and the members who heroically found them, to support us, given that we had 10% of our players off sick at short notice (which seems to be becoming the norm these days). We wish them all a good recovery, sending very special regards to our dear friend Piers. A special thanks to the members who were not playing their first instrument, to help the orchestra out, and to everyone (including non-players) who helped set up and clear away, sort the music before and after the concert, make and sell programmes and tickets, make and distribute publicity, and the many jobs associated with such a concert.

I am sure Simon will give verbal feedback in Thursday’s rehearsal, and look forward to Howard’s report for the local journals, and to find out how much we raised for the local early reading scheme. Many thanks again, Tim.
