Vacancies: leader and principal second violin
The Solent Concert Orchestra is entering an exciting new chapter, and we are looking for section leaders for our first and second violin sections to help lead the way. This is a unique opportunity to help cultivate our upper strings and support a dedicated community of musicians. We also have vacancies for additional strings (especially violas), 2nd trombone and percussion.
Visit our vacancies page for more information.
The orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings at Bramshaw Village Hall, Row Hill Cottage, Bramshaw, Lyndhurst, SO43 7JE, from 7.45pm to 9.45pm.
We perform three or four concerts each year with a wide repertoire, from classical to light modern which includes symphonies and concertos.
“Solent Concert Orchestra is a huge asset to the arts community and the wider public, here in the New Forest and beyond. Its dedication and enthusiasm are outstanding, and the combination of experienced and relatively new musicians produces truly impressive results. Some of the performances feature original compositions – most notably ‘Lymington Quay’ by Tony Kitcherside, which is my particular favourite.”
Our patron, Sir Julian Lewis
