About Us

We are a friendly group of amateur musicians from the Southampton, Solent and New Forest area, brought together by a shared love of orchestral music. Our aim is to provide enjoyment and opportunities to develop musically, encourage players to broaden their experience and raise their musical standards, and bring the pleasure of live orchestral music to our audiences.

We welcome musicians at different stages of their musical journey, whether they have been playing for years, are returning to their instrument after a break, or are looking to build their confidence and experience in an orchestral setting. Above all, we want our members to enjoy making music together in a friendly, supportive environment.

Our members have a strong say in the music we play, helping us choose an interesting and varied repertoire. We also take account of requests from the venues that host our concerts, helping us maintain a programme that appeals to both players and audiences.

We rehearse on Thursday evenings at Bramshaw Village Hall, Row Hill Cottage, Bramshaw, Lyndhurst, SO43 7JE, from 7.45pm to 9.45pm.

During the year, we perform three or four concerts featuring a wide range of music, from classical favourites to lighter modern works, including symphonies and concertos.

We believe in the importance of contributing to our local community. Through our concerts, we raise funds for local charities and community organisations, helping them continue their valuable work. We typically support several causes each year, and we’re proud that our music can bring people together not only to enjoy live performances but also to make a positive difference to the lives of others.
