We are delighted to report that the orchestra has settled in. Both to its new name and to its new rehearsal venue in Bramshaw Village Hall. Whether or not it is the acoustic there, the orchestra sounds better and brighter and we are very excited about our next concert on 14 October. Following acceptance of a proposal to the committee, the rehearsal following that (18 Oct) will actually be a free concert for our new neighbours, the folk of Bramshaw, repeating our concert works, so we hope you will enjoy reprising the concert in our new ‘home’ setting
Our repertoire for 14 October was chosen to show the lighter side to the orchestra, with music based on music from the shows and films. We hope that you will enjoy the programme; one of our favourites pieces is Jazz Pizzicato by Leroy Anderson, do listen out for it. Details of our next concerts can be found here so pop the dates in your diary. Email Us if you like what you hear.
The other good news is that we have some exciting new players in the string and brass sections. Clearly the advertising, and hard work of our members (particularly Elspeth) in contacting new players, is working; we have also added some guest players to our contact list. To any blog reader who would like to play with us, please check out the Join Us page, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
